Slightly longer hiatus

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:03 am by ewlabonte

I’m sorry, the break that I’ve been taking from the show is longer than I anticipated. I won’t be able to get a show out until after the first of the year. If there is anyone out there who would like to record an installation, or any other install-related content, email me at thelip@gnu-linux.us and let me know. If it’s really good then you can be a co-host.

Yeah, I’ve had a little problem. The computer that I’ve been recording episodes on crapped out. So I’m figuring out another way to do it. I’ve got to get a usb sound card, or maybe a portable digital recorder. But I should be back after the first of the year.

What distro are you going to open with next year?

Also, can you do a special episode about installing compiz fusion on slackware.

Since slackware doesn’t have a package manager like ubuntu to do it automatically , it would great interests for slack users out there.

I’m planning on covering BLAG 70000. It is one of the distros recommended by Richard Stallman and the Free Software Foundation. After that I’d like to do a multiple episode Gentoo installation.

Because my laptop has an ati video card I’ve never been able to get compiz or beryl working right on it. So I don’t think an episode on it would be very productive.

I can understand the need for the break, but can you post an update more often than once a month or so? Might just drop a note on here every two weeks, if you can.

A month or 5 weeks is a LONG time to not hear from a podcaster, eh?

Keep up the good work (when you can).

Oh, BTW, my previous comment was referring to the main posts. I realize that you are commenting here, but not everyone reads the comments.
